The beauty and elegance of biological systems captured my attention studying molecular biology as an undergraduate. I felt an innate curiosity for how understanding the biology of our bodies and what we take into them could lead to wellness. I worked as a lab researcher developing concepts for an HIV vaccine, and yet found myself drawn to learning more about the health of communities.

Graduate studies and a subsequent career in public health introduced me to the relationship of culture and wellness. Where we live, the people we interact with, the foods we have access to, and the ideas we are exposed to all influence the health of our bodies. Humans are inextricably intertwined with the environment.

Entrepreneurial ventures allowed me to explore food systems and botanical beauty. I operated Surf Muffins Bakery in the sage-scented desert air of Joshua Tree, and immersed myself in the local food community. With a grant from the Small Planet Institute, I told the stories of small-scale grain growers through my project the West Coast Grain Adventure. The magic of plants first enchanted me through aroma and S ENT NUDES botanical fragrance was founded to create moments of radiance. My mentor John Steele counseled me in the chakra-opening qualities of Golden Champa, divine feminine power of Rose Otto, and the ancient stories and traditions held by fragrant botanicals. S ENT NUDES was sold at boutiques across the country, and I was a frequent vendor at West Coast Craft.

Hypothyroidism, amenorrhea and somatic disconnection induced by intensive exercise, controlled eating, and stress led me to find healing modalities to complement where western medicine fell short. With patience, I discovered strategies for healing and internal alignment and found a new sense of trust for my body.

I am currently based in San Francisco, CA and offer heart-centered and evidence-based wellness sessions.
